Accessibility statement

The standard this site follows

McMenomy Law wants this website to work for everyone, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard instead of a mouse, magnification, voice control, or other assistive technology.

The site is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium. These are the guidelines most widely used to measure whether a website is accessible.

What that means on this site

  • Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, and the part of the page you are on is always clearly marked.
  • A “Skip to main content” link is the first thing on every page.
  • Pages are organized with headings and labelled regions, so a screen reader can move through them in order.
  • Photographs have text descriptions. Decorative artwork is hidden from screen readers.
  • Text and buttons meet the contrast levels in the guidelines, and text can be enlarged in your browser without anything being cut off.
  • The site works on phones and tablets as well as computers.
  • The moving background on the home page can be paused, and it does not play at all if your device is set to reduce motion.
  • Every field on the consultation form has a label, and if something is missing the form says what and where.

How it is checked

Every page is checked against the guidelines with automated testing, at computer and phone sizes, and the menus, form and other controls are tested by hand with a keyboard. The checks are repeated when the site changes.

Automated testing cannot catch everything, and some of what makes a site easy to use can only be judged by the people using it. If you find something that does not work for you, the office wants to know.

If something gets in your way

If any part of this site is hard to use, or you need information from it in another form, call the office at (775) 525-8850 or email info@mcmenomylaw.com. Tell us the page and what happened, and the office will get you the information another way and look at fixing the page.

You can always reach the office by phone instead of using the website. A consultation can be requested by phone as easily as through the form.

Links to other sites

Some links, such as the firm's Google reviews and map directions, go to sites run by other companies. Their accessibility is outside the firm's control.
